WIP :: Love pillow

Pillow

Knitting: After finishing the socks for my sister, I didn't know what to knit next.
I have Snowflake on my needles, but I'm not sure if I like the yarn... So I have put it aside for a while.
I also have a few dishclothes which I knit a few rows on now and then. But I felt the need to cast on something new. To knit something I haven't made before... So I found "Putefest" (pillow party) in my bookshelf, and desided to make some new pillows. I had some old cotton in my stash and hopefully I will have enough white to finish it.

Reading: I've been catching up on a norwegian series "Tre søstre" (three sisters) which are set in Målselv in the late 1800 and early 1900. I'm halfway through book 54. Yes, historical fiction series with a lot of books is normal here in Norway ;) And it's very popular with series set in the time from as long back as 1200. I must confess that I like this kind of series and have a lot of them ;)
I'm also reading an urban fantasy series - Lords of the Underworld. I'm reading book 3 at the moment and they are quite good.

What's on your needles?
What are you reading?

FO :: Birthday socks

Birthday socks for my sister :)

Since the Fa fa fa socks got to small, I had to cast on and knit up a new pair in a hurry for my sisters birthday yesterday.

Pattern: 64 sts, k2, p2 rib with a short row heel
Yarn: 64 g Fabel #901p
Needles: 2,5 mm

Birthday socks for my sister :)

When I knit in yarn like this, I try to get the two socks to have matching stripes. I managed to do so until I got to the toe...

Fa fa fa socks

They were meant to be a gift for someone, but the cables made them too tight.
So Eirin got herself a new pair instead ;)

Yarn: 56 g Fabel #904p
Needles: 2,5 mm
Size: small - 64 sts
Started: June 10 2013

FO :: Freya

Freya

I've been testknitting this beautiful shawl for Drømme.
I choose to knit it with smaller needles, but it turned out big enough.
It's an easy pattern to memorize and I just love the hearts!

The shawl is in the "Heart" challenge in the blog Pinnekroken.

Pattern: Freya
Yarn: 102 g Fabel #102
Needles: 3,5 mm
Hook: 3 mm
Size: Ca. 170 cm across. I made 7 repeats of pattern B.
Modifications: I casted on 3 sts, kitted 6 rows and picked up 3 sts along the knitted edgae and 3 sts on the cast on edge = 9 sts.
Started: June 4 2013
Completed: June 11 2013

WIP :: Fa fa fa socks & Snowflake

Untitled

Keep Calm Craft On :: WIP Wednesday :: Yarn Along

Reading: I got a free book from one of my bookclubs, and I choose "The Happiness Project" by Gretchen Rubin. I'm just a few pages in, so I can't tell you if I like it or not.
And I am still reading my way through "A Storm of Swords: Blood and Gold" by George R. R. Martin. I've read pass the season finale in the Game of Thrones series - and boy do I look forward to season 4!!

Knitting: My Freya shawl is blocking, FO post coming soon :)
So on the needles now is a pair of Fa fa fa socks. And I've started Snowflake for Eirin.

Reading: I'm still reading my way to the brick of a book as A Storm of Swords: Blood and Gold (A Song of Ice and Fire #3.2)by George R.R. Martin is.

Knitting: I'm test knitting Freya - a beautiful shawl with hearts. Of course it had to be pink. It's a fast knit and the pattern is easy to memorize :)

Normally, I try to match the stripes when I am making socks, but with just 100 g of each colour and it being discontinued, I wasn't sure it would be enough. But I think they look great without matching stripes and hubby doesn't care ;)
