Last FO of the year :: Stanton

Untitled

My last finished object this year - a pair of socks fot Hubby :)
This makes a total of 42 pairs of socks this year. I had no idea that I had knitted that many pairs until I decided to make a list of all of them a few months ago on Ravelry. But some of them have been gifts and there are five of us, so it's not that many socks ;)

Winter solstice

Finally the sun is turning and we can look forward to longer days!
I'd hoped that we would spend the day at our lean-to in the forest, but with -23C we stayed indoors by the fire. I just headed out for a little while to snap a few photos. It's so beautiful when everything is coverd up in frost!

Hello again...

Untitled

I know. It's been almost a month since I posted last time...
The polar nights with it's darkness has really been hard for me this year, with sleepless nights and a low mood... So I haven't felt like blogging at all. But the sun is about to turn soon, so I know it will get better!
I've been knitting in my absent (have to do something when I'm wide awake in the middle of the night). Right now I'm knitting a pair of Owl mittens for myself, but I've also finished some socks and a hat.

The Tree is up :)

The Christmas Tree is up!

Pinnekjøtt

And we have had pinnekjøtt for dinner. Pinnekjøtt is one of the traditional dishes we have for dinner at Christmas here in Norway and it's made from the rib of mutton or lamb and it is dried and salted.
