Mom, can we please get one??

Hubby's brother and his girlfriend has bought a sheepfarm a few weeks ago. And we have been visiting them a couple of times this weekend. Eirin and Endre was so fond of these little motherless lambs. Lots of cuddling and love! And they got to help bottlefeed them too :) Sorry for some blurry photos, but neither kids or lambs could stand still for very long ;)
They also have hens and horses. So I guess there will be some riding later in the summer :)

Fall is my favourite season

It's been a week with some wonderful fall weather. We've had temperatures up around 15 C, so it's been great to spend time outside. The kids and I was on a local childrens club on Thursday. And Endre was soaking wet after playing in the water, throwing stones and looking for treasures :) Eirin was just a huge, big smile after riding the horse Salt & Pepper :)
And yesterday was spent by the lean-to picking berries. We picked blueberries, lingonberries and black crowberries. We make jam of the blue - and lingon berries. We use lingonberry jam as a accessory to meat dinner. Like meatcakes in gravy or game meat. I'm going to make syrup of the crowberries.
We have some berries in the garden as well. Blackcurrant and the berries from the Bird Cherry. I haven't used the Bird cherry berries before, but have found a recipe for a liquer. So if I have enough berries I might give it a try ;)
While we were in the forest, some sheep got close and the kids managed to pet one of them before they ran away. And nothing tastes as good as lunch made over an open fire! We had fishcake burgers ;)

Frost

I dag våkna vi opp til -3 C, og skodda lå tykk. Den letta ikke før sola kom frem i 10 tiden. Her ser dere rogna vår. I år er det ikke et eneste rognebær å se, og i følge gamle ordtak betyr det at vi går en vinter med mye snø i møte! Rogna skal ikke bære tungt to ganger, dvs først med bær og så med snø. Så vi får se om det stemmer da ;) De siste 3-4 årene har dette treet vært fullt av bær, og vi har hatt lite snø...

Today we woke up to -3 C, and the fog was thick. It didn't lift until the sun came out arond 10. Here you see our rowan tree. This year there is not a single berry on it, and according to old sayings that means we have a winter with a lot of snow in front of us! The rowan shall not carry heavy twice, as in first the berries then the snow. So we have to see if it's right ;) The last 3-4 years this tree have been full of berries, and we have had little snow...

The little guy and I took advantage of the great weather and went for a walk.

Rett oppi veien fra huset vårt møtte vi denne gjengen :) Sauer som er kommet ned fra fjellet og skal hjem for vinteren.

Just up the road we met this gang :) Sheeps coming down from the mountains going home for the winter.



I år er skogen et flott skue, trærne har så flotte farger - det ser nesten ut som hele skogen står i brann! Værutsiktene ser gode ut, så til helga blir det nok skogstur på hele gjengen :)

This year the forest is a great sight, the trees have so great colours - it lokks like the whole forest is on fire! The weather forcast looks great, so it will be a hike in the forest for all of us in the weekend :)
