Ludwig, Fishing and a Hike To Varto

After finishing my Not so matching stripes socks, I decided to use the remaining yarn for a pair of Ludwig socks. The pattern is from the Op-Art socks book by Stephanie van der Linden and it's my first time knitting mosaic knitting. Which I thought was complicated, but it really isn't as the effect is made by slipped stitches. So I think I 'll have to find another mosaic pattern to try out because these socks was really fun to knit - its almost like knitting a self striping sock, just one more stripe ;)

Needles: 2,25 mm / US 1 and 2,5 mm / US 1.5 (for the cuffs only)
Size: 72 sts

The gusset decreases was knitted under the foot, a type of decrease I tend to like more and more as it doesn't interrupt the pattern as much.

We have been out fishing again. Still no luck catching some big fishes yet, but the boys had some fun time anyhow :)

After we tried our luck fishing we went on a little hike to Varto a small hilltop 216 masl nearby.

   

We walked by a few horses that was trying to find some shade up among the trees.

Fall is my favourite season

It's been a week with some wonderful fall weather. We've had temperatures up around 15 C, so it's been great to spend time outside. The kids and I was on a local childrens club on Thursday. And Endre was soaking wet after playing in the water, throwing stones and looking for treasures :) Eirin was just a huge, big smile after riding the horse Salt & Pepper :)
And yesterday was spent by the lean-to picking berries. We picked blueberries, lingonberries and black crowberries. We make jam of the blue - and lingon berries. We use lingonberry jam as a accessory to meat dinner. Like meatcakes in gravy or game meat. I'm going to make syrup of the crowberries.
We have some berries in the garden as well. Blackcurrant and the berries from the Bird Cherry. I haven't used the Bird cherry berries before, but have found a recipe for a liquer. So if I have enough berries I might give it a try ;)
While we were in the forest, some sheep got close and the kids managed to pet one of them before they ran away. And nothing tastes as good as lunch made over an open fire! We had fishcake burgers ;)

Hester / Horses

I dag har vi vært på Håkøy utenfor Tromsø. Der driver samboerens bror og dama hans hestestall. Ungene har stor kosa seg i det fine været vi har hatt idag! Her er det Erlend som hjelper til å ta hestene ut på beite. Ikke fritt for at han er kry der han går :)

Today have we been to Håkøy outside Tromsø. Hubbys brother and his girlfriend runs a horse stable there. The kids been having a great time in the good weather we've had today! Here Erlend helps to walk the horses to they're pasture. He's rather proud there he's walking :)

Endre var veldig begeistret for hestene da han kunne se dem fra vogna innafor gjerdene, men ville ikke prøve å sitte på en.

Endre was very enthusiastic about the horses when he could watch them inside the fences from his carriage, but didn't want to try to sit upon one.

Men det gjor Eirin. Var ei som var veldig kry oppå hesteryggen :)

But Eirin did. She was very proud up on the horseback :)
