With three more pair of socks this month, I feel a bit in advance for July ;) And I have three socks on the needles as well.

Pattern: Just a toe-up vanilla sock with a short row heel. They are long and I love the color!
Yarn: 83 g Zwerger Garn Opal Brasil # 5001.
Needles: 2,5 mm.

Pattern: Another toe-up vanilla sock with a short row heel :)
Yarn: 73 g Zwerger Garn Opal Traumfänger/Dreamcatcher # 1236.
Needles: 2,5 mm.

Pattern: Simple side to side socks.
Yarn: 58 g Zwerger Garn Opal Feelings # 1703.
Needles: 2,5 mm.

They got a bit small for me, so they might end up as a gift. And I might have used another yarn... But it was a new way to knit a sock, but I don't think I'll knit this pattern again.

We've had some warm days this week, but there's no sign of the tap water yet... And today the kids rescued this creature. He could not fly, so they picked him up and put him in our bird cherry tree. I have no idea what kind of insect this is, but maybe any of you know..?

52 books in 52 weeks update

It's time for the update on the books I've read in June. It's been quite a bit of "mindless" pocket series books (Livets Døtre i.e) this month. But I've also been hooked on mystery/codex books. Dan Brown and Tom Egeland have some good ones. And last, I've started a SF trilogy by B. Andreas Bull-Hansen - which is fantastic!! I've highlighted my favourite books :)

Still raining...

Well, one of us is enjoying the wet and cold "summer" we are having... Endre have spent hours in all the puddles the rain have made the last week. And yes, he was soaking wet through 3 layers of clothes. And yes, we're still wearing wool clothes belive it or not... We had a glimpse of sun Friday and yesterday and the temperatures become a shocking 22 C over night, but today it's back to below 10 C, rain and wind :( They say we haven't had a colder June since 1982... But one just have to make the best of it and there's still July and August left ;)

With the rain, it's been more time to sit indoors and knit. I knitted this for my sisters 18th birthday :)

Pattern: Traveling Woman. I made 4 repeats of pattern A before I knitted pattern B.
Yarn: 126 g Silja.
Needles: 4 mm.

And Endre & Eirin have got some new headwear :) A crochet hat and a headband.

It dosn't feels like summer...

Gah, the weather is taken away the best of me... It's been raining almost non-stop for three days and with temperatures bearly over 5 C, it's not much that remains us of summer here :( We've all been in a bad mood, but we have a saying here in Norway:
"There is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing" (of course it rhymes in norwegian ;)
So with that in mind we headed out in the forest today - and believe it or not, we had some great hours without rain :) And despite the lack of green, there was a lot of tiny little flowers to find :)

It dosn't feels like summer...

The rain have been pouring down for days now, and the temperatures have bearly been over 5 C... so there isn't much that reminds us about summer here.

But despite the rainclouds that was hanging heavy down the mountains, we desided to pack the backpack and headed out in the forest :) And we had some great hours where it actually didn't rain at all :)

The kids explored a little creek, we found some small beautiful flowers and ate our lunch.

We've been without intetnet connection for over a week and it's still a bit unsteady... And we're still without water :( After 5 months we're sort of starting to get used to it though, but now when it's summer the kids clothes get's so much dirtier than during winter. So I'm so looking forward to be able to do my own laundry. Hubby is going to dig the water pipe deeper, so hopefully we'll have the water back soon!
We've celebrated Eirin's 8 birthday and it really warms a mother's heart when the homemade present is the most cherished :)

Pattern: Blue Totoro
Yarn: Blue Toppull and some white leftover of Mor Aase.
Hook: 3,5 mm

I've also knitted up four pairs of socks.
Pattern: 48 st, k1,p1 and k2,p2 ribbing with short row heel.
Size: About 5-6 years.
Yarn: Pink and blue Labbetuss raggegarn, red and brown Jarbo mellanraggi. About 65 g each.
Needles: 3 mm.

I've joined for another year of madness ;)

I know, I must be crazy to attempt another try in knitting 52 pairs of socks in 12 months, but I've joined the next plunge :)
I didn't make it to 52 pairs in the last plunge, but I think 31 pairs of socks knitted in 12 months isn't bad either ;) You can find all the details about yarn, needles and patterns here on my blog or here at Ravelry.

52 books in 52 weeks update

I love books! I've been readig books since I learned how to read, and there's no better way to spend some hours than with a good book and disappear into another world! So when I found the 52 books in 52 weeks group on Ravelry, I thought I'd make a list of the books I read and see if I manage to read 52 books in a year. And it's seems like I have no problem so far ;) I might even manage to do the reading 200+ books in 2010 challenge ;)
