52 books in 52 weeks update

I love books! I've been readig books since I learned how to read, and there's no better way to spend some hours than with a good book and disappear into another world! So when I found the 52 books in 52 weeks group on Ravelry, I thought I'd make a list of the books I read and see if I manage to read 52 books in a year. And it's seems like I have no problem so far ;) I might even manage to do the reading 200+ books in 2010 challenge ;)

I have read book 2 and 3 in the Twilight saga, and loved them. But after reading some reviews of the last book (breaking dawn), I have desided that I'm not going to read it. It's not the way I pictured the story to end... I really wanted Bella and Jacob to be togehter ;)

So, have you read any good books this month??

First of all, thank you so much for all your nice comments on my jacket!!
The kids have easter break from school now, and wont start again before next Tuesday. It looks like the weather will be great and hopefully I can be sitting outdoors knitting (without freezing my fingers off) while they play like I did today :)

We still have a lot of snow, but the sun and the wind we had today slowly begins to melt it. It dripps from the roofs and since we still have some very cold nights (we have had -20 C some mornings this week...), some big icicles have grown on our roof. They are beautiful to look at, but can be dangerous if they suddenly fall down.

So Hubby cut them off today.

Yesterday was perfect - not a cloud on the sky, the sun was warming and the kids had lots of fun sledding in a very steep hill :)

They had so much fun that being covered in a lot of snow on the way down didn't matter at all - they went straight up again and again and agian :) I just hope easter will bring us many days like this - after all, easter in Norway is about being outdoors, skiing or hiking ;)

Heart Yoke Cardigan

I love it, I love it, I love it :)
I'm so happy about how this cardigan turned out! And it fits! I was so worried it would be to small, but it fits perfect.
I don't love pictures of myself though... But here it goes.

Pattern: Heart Yoke Cardigan by Kate Gagnon Osborn. Pattern can be found in Vogue Knitting, Holiday 2009.
Yarn: Mor Aase superwash 600 g black, 34 g white, 30 g grey. Robust 41 g light grey.
Needles: 3 & 3,5 mm.
Size: 44
Modifications: I've knitted a twisted rib (k1,p1) instead of the garter stitch edges. I also knitted the sleeves longer. I hate it when the sleeves ends around my wrist, so I need long sleeves, so long that I can pull them down over my hands if it's cold ;)
If I should knit it one more time, I would have knitted the front bands by them selves and sew them on after. I picked up stitches, and it got a little tight. But after some steaming with an iron it’s ok ;)

Our plans about going to our lean-to on Sunday got called off because Erlend got the stomach flu :( It's the worst thing I know! Yuck! Fortunally he was the only one, and we haven't catched it yet, so hopefully we won't get it either. And it's been snowing - alot! I think we've gotten about 50 cm of snow this week. The roads are terrible to drive on, and I'm so glad I don't have to be out driving each day! Due to Erlend being sick, I haven't knit so much. But I have made up a few outfits for Barbie ;) The patterns are from Sticka till Barbie, a site filled with over 900 free patterns - me like :)

First a gold top.
Patern: #529 from Sticka till Barbie.
Yarn: Some gold yarn I've had in my stash for years.
Needles: 2 mm.

I like this, but if I'll knit it again, I'll make some decreasing on the sleeves.
Pattern: #320 from Sticka till Barbie.
Yarn: Online, leftovers from my yellow lace socks.
Needles: 2 mm.

I've been frogging a bit too ;) I started this scarf back in October... It's been alomost done, don't know why I haven't finished it. But when I digged it out of my knit basket and casted off (yes, it was the only thing left to do...), I saw that it turned out to short to become a good scarf :( So I frogged it. I really like the spider, so I'm going to knit it on another project. A hat perhaps. Or a pair of socks, like these.

And I'm almost done with my Heart yoke cardigan!!! I have just one front band left :)

This is the March pattern in the Sockamania knitalong. They were a dream to knit up, the pattern was easy to memorize. And I love the way the yarn knit up.

Pattern: "Wearin" O' The Green" by Tama.
Yarn: 76 g ONline Supersocke 100 Florida Color #1130
Needles: 2,5 mm.

The snow has been falling all week, so when we woke up to a sunny day today, we had to head outdoors :)

Remember Blue?? He's one of the toys I've knitted that's been played with alot. Otto is another. And today Eirin requested for another one ;) So I'll have to dive into my stash and see if I have any yarn ;) Maybe it's time for Blue to get a girlfriend *lol*

With all the snow we could finally dig out some snow caves :)

It looks like it will be great weather tomorrow too, so we'll be heading out and up to our lean-to :)

A bunch of felted mittens

These mittens have been done for a while, I just haven't bloged them yet ;) I've been going through my wip's lately, and have some that are done. I'm just waiting for better weather to take pictures. It's snowing and windy today, so there won't be a photoshot today... I've also frogged a couple of projects - better than getting resentfull each time I see them in my basket.

These are mine :)
Pattern: Nr 179-30 Tovete votter by Bjørg Bertelsen.
Yarn: 100 g Heilo and 30 G Popcorn, both from Dalegarn.
Needles: 4,5 mm.

These are Endre's :)
Pattern: From the book Krymp.
Yarn: Leftovers of finull and pt2. The rib is knitted in superwash so it won't felt.
Needles: 3,5 and 6 mm.

Purple - has to be Eirin's ;)
Pattern: Same as the blue.
Yarn: Hifa 2 ullgarn and Mor Aase superwash.
Needles: 3,5 and 6 mm.

These are Erlend's.
Pattern: Same as my red.
Yarn: The homespun yarn I got in a swap a while ago.
Needles: 4 mm.

I've also knited Endre a pair of woolsocks. I needed something mindless to knit on while I watched tv this weekend ;) I didn't manage to take a picture before he used them, so they look a bit sloppy ;)
Pattern: 48 st, k2, p2.
Yarn: 32 g Jamieson & Smith 2 Ply Jumper Weight.
Needles: 2,75 mm.
These are my 24th pair since I joined the 52ppiii. And with just 12 weeks left, I don't think I'll manage to knit up 28 more pairs... Ad I'm not going to try to do it either!

We went skiing yesterday. And as you can see Endre had a great time.

The snow was a bit wet, so we managed to make some snow sculptures too :) I'm not sure what this is - a reindeer, a moose or a horse with antlers *lol* Anyway, we had a great time for hours outdoors yesterday, and you can read and see more pictures here.

And the easter coloured yellybeans I got last week was yummy :)
