Snow and some awards :)

It's been snowing since Wednesday, and it was enough to make winter's first snowman and for a little sledding :) The kids had great fun, but I think the snow could have waited at least a month before it came... It's been raining today, so the snow have turned into wet slush now... Which is not so fun to play in.

I have received two awards lately - and I know I'm slow to past them on... But here it goes.

I got this from Fiolinn back in July (yes, I know I'm SO slow to pass it on...).  There are some "rules" to go with it though...

Kakemenn

I don't bake much for christmas, but we have to bake "kakemenn". The kids are not hugh fans of christmas cookies, but these soft cookies disappears from the boxes in a hurry ;)
They are also one of few traditional christmas cookies Endre can eat since they are egg free.

4 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 cup milk
4 tablespoons of butter
2 teaspoons of powdered baking ammonia

cup= teacup or coffee cup ( about 3 dl)
I have used butter without milk and ricemilk.

Mix all the dry ingredients and work in the butter. Add milk and more flour if needed until the dough is unsticky. This is enough to fill about four baking trays.

Roll out to about 5 mm and cut out desired figures. Bake at 200 C in the middel of the oven for about 10 minutes.

Not much can be better than this. Hot tea, cookies still warm from the oven, knitting and the kids playing peacefully with lego :)
(And I try not to think about the pile of dishes in the kitchen...)

1. I hate lumps (strawberries) in my jam, so I always mash it in a blender.

Fingerless mitts

Two pairs of fingerless mitts are done. This gray pair is a christmas present.
Pattern: 220 Fingerless mitt's by Jessica.
Yarn: 100 g Gjestal Østlandsgarn
Needles: 3,5 mm
Modifications: I have knitted rib over the thumb st as well.

I plan to give these as a christmas present, but I'll keep them myself ;)
Pattern: Strata from Knitting new mittens & gloves.
Yarn: 50 g Rubin.
Needles: 3,5 mm
Size: Large

Sunset

We have rainy days now, but last night a soft pink/red light filled our livingroom. The sun colored the sky just before she disappeared behind the mountain. It felt like even the air was red when I went outside to take the picture. And the lake was so beautiful, the picture don't give it justice...

I haven't been able to log into blogger or read any other blogspot blogs since Friday. It's not just me, all with the same internet supplier has had the same problem. But it seems like it's fixed now. Let us just hope it'll last!

I'm back

There has been so much going on in real life lately that I've not had time to post. I have had so many post in my head though... My stepdaughter has been here for three weeks so I've had my hands full... She is back with her mom now, and Eirin is having her last week in kindergarden this week. We have had mostly great weather with some rainydays in between. Those are the days when the kids gets quarrelsome, so I try to find something fun to do.
Above the kids are drawing on a picture together. I just drew some mountains and a lake for them. You can see more pictures here, here, here, here, here, here and here :o)

Yesterday did I spend 5 (yes five ) hours on my butt sorting the kids lego. They are having it in the livingroom now, so it needs to be in different boxes for easy access. Because there is no way thay are alloved to have the lego all over the floor like this every day... So now we have boxes for wheels and car parts, bionicle, plain lego, girly lego and all those people and accesories ( I had no idea there was so many monkeys...). And hopefully the kids are going to have it lie this for some times.

I really haven't been knitting much, but have made a pair of potholders. In simple singel crochet stitch. O do have a project on needle 7 mm that I hope to have done soon - if I have enough yarn...

Dukka har fått seg body. Har brukt opp restene etter Little shell socks. Mønster fra et av Sandnes dukkehefter. Og hvis noen har et godt råd for hvordan jeg kan få av blekkflekkene på dukka, blir jeg glad. har prøvd neglelakkfjerner, jif og zalo.... Kan hende må jeg spørre samboern om han har noe i garasjen som kan fjerne "sminken".

Vel jeg sitter like ved bokhylla mi og der er det mest strikkebøker. Men den boka som ligger nærmest er alikevel ikke en strikkebok, men Spiderwick som jeg leser til barna :)

Hvis man så på det på den måten, var det en stor bok, en skikkelig svær bok, så veldig at det ikke var til å fatte.

I dag har vi hatt strålende vær. En kjenner faktisk at sola varmer :) Så vi har vært på sparktur og lekt og kosa oss ute i flere timer. Håper på mange flere slike dager!

We've had some wonderful weather today. You can really feel the heat from the sun :) So we've been on a kick-sledge trip. Hoping for a lot more of these kind of days!

1. Jeg samler på strikkebøker... Har flust, men kan ikke skryte på meg at jeg har strikka noe fra alle...
2. Jeg må drikke et par kopper te om dagen.
3. Er det cola i huset, så kan du være sikker på at den ikke vare lenge - er en skikkelig colaholiker ;)
4. Jeg må strikke sokker - er så kjekt å strikke på mens jeg ser på tv ;)
5. Jeg bruker ullsokker (hjemmelagde) nesten hele året - kun midt på sommeren får tærne lufte seg ;)
6. Jeg elsker rosa og heldigvis har jeg en datter å strikke til!
7. Favoritt strikkepinnene mine er røde og er 2,5 mm.

5. I wear woolsocks (homemade) almost the hole year - only in the summer I let my toe breathe ;)

Ok, here's 8 random things about me :)

1. Jeg spiser ikke klumpene i jordbær syltetøy...

2. Jeg hater å kjøre bil om vinteren, men må man så må man.

3. Når jeg skal henge opp klesvasken må jeg gjøre det på en bestemt måte. Småvask som sokker ol må henge et sted, buksene må henge etter bena osv Så det er svært sjelden at samboern henger opp klær for å si det sånn...

4. Jeg har dilla på å lese pockebok serier. Tror jeg leser på ca 10 stykker nå.

5. Jeg må ha minst tre teskjeer med sukker i teen min.

6. Jeg fryser på bena bestandig. Det skal være veldig varmt før jeg går barføtt. Da er det godt at samboern er motsatt for det er godt å kunne varme tærne når jeg legger meg :)

7. Jeg ser nesten ikke på tv, bare "hører" på den mens samboern ser på :)

8. Jeg liker ikke måker.

3. When I hang mu laundry to dry i have to do it in a certain way. The socks and other small clothes have their own place, the jeans have to hang after their legs ans so on. Hubby dosn't do the laundry much in other words...

4. I love to read pocket book series. Think I read about 10 different now...

5. I need at least 3 teaspoon of sugar in my tea.

6. I always freeze on my feet. It has to be very warm before I go barefoot. Then it's good Hubby is the other way around, because it's nice to have someone to warm my feet on when i go yo bed :)

7. I don't watch tv much, just "listening" when Hubby watches it :)

8. I don't like seagulls.
