Snow in June
You know you live in the arctic when you wake up to this in the middle of June...
The weather is crazy today due to cold wind coming from the Northpole. I think we've had all kinds of weather so far. Snow, rain, hail, wind and a little sunshine in between and the temperatur has been down to a 0 C. So I hope some of my plants have survived in the garden...
But we tend to forget all this after a couple of days with sun and warm weather again ;)
So I keep the fire going in the woodstove, bake bread and knit on my sisters birthday socks. I always knit her a pair of socks for her birthday as I know they will be worn and keeps her feet warm.
The pattern is Budleigh from Coop Knits Socks.
And there has been lots of cake this weekend. We celebrated Eirin's 12th bithday. (Oh, they grow up so fast..) This is Verdens beste or the Worlds best cake. You can find an english recipe here :)

Weekending :: Enough with the snow now, please!
It's been a long weekend here as the Easter holidays start Wednesday afternoon before Maundy Thursday, and end on Tuesday morning after Easter Monday. This makes for a nice long Easter weekend in Norway!
And as you might know, Easter here in Norway is all about skiing, hiking, soaking up sun and read/watch crime mysteries.
Well, there haven't been any skiing and no sun, but a lot of snow and plenty of time for reading my mystery books...
This last week we have been out shoveling snow almost every day.
We have over a meter of snow no...Fun for the kids as they can dig snowcaves, but I, who had hopes for an early spring, just *sighs*...
Today we had to shovel the roofs because it's going to rain next week.
The kids was not hard to ask as they normally are not allowed to walk on the roofs ;)
Despite all the snow we have had a great weekend after all with
Eastereggs filled with candy (trying to ignore the kids high on sugar...)
Cake
Hubby and I finally got the time to catch up on season two of Game of Thrones, so now we are ready to start watching the third season
Easter Bunny rolls for breakfast
Knitting
Påskeliljer
A lot of wet mittens, hats and outdoor clothes due to playing in the snow
And as usual, Endre is awake early when he knows he doesn't have to go to school... He's been up 6 am every morning. Just in time to watch Scooby Doo ;)
How's your weekend been?

Weekending :: We have a teenager!
We've celebrated Erlend's 13 birthday!
Still can't believe we have a teenager - the years seems to fly by so fast...
The rain finally gave in and with some frost and wind
we have a great crust on the snow that we can walk on.
So Endre and I have been out and about in the forest looking for animal tracks
and had some fun on the ice.
How's your weekend been?

Our take on Halloween
You either love or hate Halloween here in Norway. It's not many years since the tradition came and it seems to grow each year. Our kids don't go trick or treat as I don't like Halloween that much, yet...
So instead we have made a graveyard cake and have watched "The Nightmare Before Christmas" tonight.

Weekending
Weekending, my favorite part of the week. A time to relax, live, love, just to be.
Joining with Amanda.
It's been a weekend filled with food...
Cupcakes, shrimps and chocolate cake :)
We have had a bit of spring cleaning here
and I even went through my yarn stash.
So good to know what I have and where to find it ;)
Have a few plans for new projects soon.
Wingspan, Hüttenschuhe, Wingfeathers shawl, Liseron
and Three Flavor Delight Top-Down Cardigan
It's been a very windy weekend with a bit of rain as well.
But it good as it makes the snow melt.
The kids have defied the elements and jump for hours on the trampoline
and have just been indoors to warm up and grab something to eat.

Friday Cookies
I've desided that we're going to bake cookies each Friday :) I'm not very domestic when it comes to cooking and baking, so this will be just as much learning for me as for the kids ;) Hoping we'll make some great moments together though!
I know that the biggest "problem" will be to find recepies without eggs due to Endre's allergy... So if you have any, please share!
But then again Endre is not the biggest cookie lover in the house... We made two different kinds of chocolate chip cookies today. And Endre ate two before he desided that they weren't any good *lol* I guess he just ate them because of the chocolate since he's very picky about his food ;)

Erlend 10 years
Erlend was 10 years yesterday! He celebrated his day on Friday with his friends. And as the Star Wars fan he is, I had to come up with a Star Wars cake. I'm not a great baker in any way, so I made a simple chocolate cake and made a stencil from a book and dusted icing suger over ;)
Yesterday we spent the day in the hills sledding - and he was happy spendig his birthday that way :) And the present - mostly Star Wars lego, books and figures ;) And I guess there is no doubt he'll spend the money he got on Star Wars too ;)

The dragon is 4 years today :)
Happy Birthday Endre
Can you believe how fast time flies..? Endre is 4 today.
He has a strong will and know how to
push his brother and sisters around ;)
But he's also a sweet boy who hands out hugs
and kisses every day!
Now he is finally asleep after
a little too much sugar ;)

Birthday girl :)
How time flies. Eirin is 7 years today. I feel like it was just yesterday I gave birth to her. It was a warm and sunny night and Hubby and I spent most of the time waiting outside in the garden of the birth clinic. Watching birds and soaking up the midnightsun.
She got a little package from her brothers when she woke up today, and among other thing she got a pair of Hello Kitty stud earrings from Somewhere Out There :) SO cute!
And of course I had to bake a cake with Hello Kitty ;) I also baked muffins. If any have a good recipe for muffins withour eggs, pleace let me know. I 've tried several, but I think theyeither get too doughy or too heavy...
I got packages too today - three new knitting books :) Sock innovation, The ultimate sock book and Socken aus aller Welt. So I'm going to put the kids to bed and curl up in the sofa and read!
The forecast predict great wether for the weekend, so tomorrow we're going to Senja familiepark :)
