FO :: Fireweeds Socks

This pair have been done for a while, but of course I had to wait for the Fireweeds to bloom until I could take photos of them!

I cast them on back in April and I'm not sure when they were done... didn't put it in the Ravelry page, but it is a few months ago. They turned out a little long with all the pattern, so the toe got not as much pink as I would have liked it to have.

We have had a heat weave the last couple of days and today we went to the beach.
Of course I had to bring some knitting ;)

Summer in May

Is not normal in our part of the world...
There's been set new temperature records in some parts.
We haven't had it so warm since 1984...
So we eat icecream and popcicles.
And head out to the beach.
Yes, the water was freezing!!
But the kids didn't care ;)

Rødbergvarden & Aglapsvika

Finally some sun and warm weather came to the north part og the country :)

So we had to take advantage of it and went hiking yesterday.We hiked to Rødbergvarden.It's one of the easiest tops in Ti på Topp.

There wasn't a lot of hills to climb, but one had got a name :)

But even if it wasn't either very steep or very long, was it good for small feet to get a rest at the end ;)

On the way home made we a stop on the beach in Aglapsvika. We had the beach all to our self. It was a

bit cold for swimming though...

A day at the beach

We had rented this cabin for the weekend and went up to it Friday afternoon. After playing outside for hours until bedtime, everything was just fine. But with a cabin that everyone can rent, I guess there will always be someone that don't bother to clean up after oneself... And I think it must be years since last time this cabin has been washed down from roof to floor... So when we went inside and the kids started to play in the beds and sofa, the air got filled with dust... The result, Endre got thight in his chest, and could have gotten an asthma attack if we had stayed :( So we just had to pack up and drive home.

But the weekend turned out great still :) Saturday we went to Aglapsvik where there is a great beach. 

The tide was low so one part of the beach was filled with
big rocks covered with little blue mussels.

Cockle or "Heart shell" as we call them in Norway.

There was several common eider mams with kids swimming, but
no dads. A bit sad because they have some great colors.

Fjellvann / Mountain lake

I dag har vi oppdaget et nydelig tur terreng like i nærheten :) Det ligger et stykke opp på fjellet og vannet er omkranset av fjell - vakkert!

Today we discovered a great hiking terrain nearby :) It's a bit up in the mountains and the lake is surronded by mountains - beautiful!

Det var ikke en krusning på vannet og ut på dagen steg temperaturen opp mot +20 C, og et par av ungene var å dyppet tærne. Tror nok det var litt kaldt ja ;)

There wasen't a roll on the lake and outwards the day the temperature rised up to +20 C. Some of the kids dipped their toes, but I think it was a bit cold ;)

Sandstranda var lang og ungene kasta stein og pinner, fanga småfisk i en kopp og fikk vann i støvlene - derfor henger det sokker til tørk ved bålet ;)

The beach was long and the kids throw rocks and sticks, catched small fish in a cup and got water in their wellies - that's why a pair of socks are hanging to dry by the fire ;)

Endre og bestemor. Han var nok ganske stolt av seg selv, for han gikk helt selv uten å sitte på ryggen til meg i dag! Men så gikk vi ikke så langt i dag da...
