FO :: Hitchhiker

Untitled

Oh, it was a bit sad to cast off the last stitches on this project...
Such a fun knit - and I love how it turned out! It's definitely going to be my new favorite scarf this fall/winter :)

The indian summer we've been having the last couple of weeks are gone, and we are back to our normal fall weather with rain and below 10 C. So I guess it won't be long before my new scarf can be worn.

What took me days to knit, was frogged in a couple of minutes....

Beautiful colours, don't you think? This was a skein of yarn called "Rubber grapes" which I got a few months ago in the Spunky Eclectic yarn club. I new this was not made to become a pair of socks, so I casted on for a necherchief. The pattern was easy to memorise and it was quite a fast knit. As my ball of yarn made it to the end I casted off only to find it to short in lenght to wrap around my neck... I guess I could tie a knot at the back of my neck, but I don't like that... So I frogged it instead. Now I need to look for a wider, slimmer shawl.

Dandy necherchief - which I've frogged..

Pattern: Dandy neckerchief by Ariane Caron-Lacoste.
Yarn: 100 g Super Nova from Spunky Eclectic #Rubber Grapes.
Needles: 4 mm.

Some small knits :)

Our plans about going to our lean-to on Sunday got called off because Erlend got the stomach flu :( It's the worst thing I know! Yuck! Fortunally he was the only one, and we haven't catched it yet, so hopefully we won't get it either. And it's been snowing - alot! I think we've gotten about 50 cm of snow this week. The roads are terrible to drive on, and I'm so glad I don't have to be out driving each day! Due to Erlend being sick, I haven't knit so much. But I have made up a few outfits for Barbie ;) The patterns are from Sticka till Barbie, a site filled with over 900 free patterns - me like :)

I've been frogging a bit too ;) I started this scarf back in October... It's been alomost done, don't know why I haven't finished it. But when I digged it out of my knit basket and casted off (yes, it was the only thing left to do...), I saw that it turned out to short to become a good scarf :( So I frogged it. I really like the spider, so I'm going to knit it on another project. A hat perhaps. Or a pair of socks, like these.

And I'm almost done with my Heart yoke cardigan!!! I have just one front band left :)

Citron and playing in the snow

Citron

My Cirton shawl is finally done. I have enjoyd knitting on this, but those last rows was long... I love the softness of alpaca and the colours. I didn't had enough blue so the ruffle edge is gray. And no, I haven't blocked it - it turned out to small for me :(
It's just barely long enough so Eirin can make it as a scarf, but she think alpaca is itchy. I might sew it together somehow so I can use it as a cowl.

Pattern: Citron by Hilary.
Yarn: 100 g blue Mirasol and 50 g gray Drops alpaca.
Needles: 3 mm.

Winter's first snowmen :)

During the night we got snow. About 25 cm of white wonders just waiting for kids to come out and play with :) I just wish it had come a few weeks earlier... Our water froze yesterday due to the cold temperatures and wind. Hubby is working hard to see if he can get it back. It's frozen inside our water well, but it's lots of water outside... Hopefully he manage to defrost it so the water can find it's way in!

Baktus scarf

baktus scarf

I've been meaning to knit this scarf since it was all over blogs here in Norway last fall. And finally I have my own ;) Baktus is one of the creatures that lives in Jens' teeth. And since there is a Baktus scarf there is also a Karius scarf ;) Baktus is in garther st while Karius is knitted in st st.

I love mindless projects like this - perfect for watching tv...
I now I look cross on the photos, but I'm not. It dosn't show, but the sun was up and the light was so sharp I had to peer against the white snow...

Litt strikking / Some knitting

I'm knitting though it's quiet in here... It's mostly x-mas gifts, but I've casted on for a couple of other things too - must have something to vary with ;)

Først et par pulsvarmere.
Mønster: Lacy fingerless mittens fra Winter Knits Kit
Garn: 100 g koksgrå Rubin

Enkelt og kjapp å strikke - Ballband dishcloth :)

Easy and fast to knit - Ballband dishcloth ;)

Endre needs a thin winter sweater, so I've started on Ludo. haven't got very far yet, but I guess there will be more time for it after I'm done with the x-mas gifts :)

Need to have some easy tv-knitting ;) So I casted on for another snowy triangle scarf.

Snowy Triangle scarf

It's not easy to take picture of oneself ;) But the scarf is done, and now when it's daylight only a couple of hours I have to take advantage of it while it's still here... Think it's great, and I have to knit one similar to myself because this one is a x-mas present :)

Mønster: Snowy Triangle Scarf fra boka Handknit Holidays
Garn: 100 g opal cotton nr 1337
Pinner: 4 mm

Rosa og søtt / Pink and sweet

Here is the gift I've been knitting on this weekend.
Pattern: The scarf and mittens are from the danish book Sødt og blødt, the booties are from Head to toe knits
Yarn: about 70 g pink and a small amount of grey alpaca from garnstudio
Needles: 3mm
Notes: On the booties have I not knitted the edge that is in the pattern.

Since hubby got his appendix removed, we haven't gotten our agrement about hiking every weekend "alive and kicking" yet. But I must say that we have been outdoors playing - alot ;) Fot those of you that want to see more outdoor picture, we have posted some more in our outdoor blog ;)
