52 books in 52 weeks update & A giveaway!

Those of you who have been reading my blog for a while know I've been reading some (alot of) books ;)

However there haven't been many in December. Mostly because I've read The Mists of valon, a brick of a book, which I loved!  And I must say I'm pretty impressed with myself for reading 122 books in one year when I was aiming for 52 :)

It's been all about vampires, werewolves, witches and pixi's this month!! I've read the last three "True Blood" books, and I can't wait until May for the 11th book!
And the Hollow series just get's better and better. You know, those kind of books you never want to end ;) I'll have to wait until February before the 5th book comes out in norwegian... *sigh*

The months seems to just fly by - I can't imagine it's November already! All the snow we got this weekend have melted due to a very warm wind during the night, it was +8 C this morning. And there is a storm coming that will hit us in the afternoon.  Perfect weather to stay inside and knit :)

So what have I been reading last month. Well, some vampire books ;) Who would have thought so , ha,ha. I've discovered a series written by Sherrilyn Kenyon  - Dark Hunter World. I loved the 1st book, the 2nd wasn't quite so good, but I have high exspectations for the 3rd :)
I've also read the 2nd book in the Immortales series, which are written by three authors. Jennifer Ashley, Robin Popp and  Joy Nash. I  read the 1st book last year, I think, and I must say I like the plot. So I might buy more books in the series. Speaking of Joy Nash, when I had a look at her site I came across the Druids of Avalon series. I know I have so many book  around here waiting for me to read them, so I really shoudn't buy more... But I think I'll have to check out this series :) Anyone read it??

I have been reading "normal" books too, which have no vampires in sight :) The last week or so I've been in a world filled with chocolate and magic. I've read Chocolat and The Lollipop shoes  by Joanne Harris. And if you haven't read them you must!! It's been a long time since I've read such a beautiful story. And yes, I know there is a film based on the Chocolat book, but I've been dissapointed so many times when I've seen films based on books I've read :( So even if Johnny Depp has a role, I'm still not going to se it ;)

I see that Joanne Harris have written more books, so I think I need to check some of them out. Have any of you read some of them?? Any recommendations??

Another month has passed, and with fall comes more time for reading ;) This month I've been reading a lot of vampire books. I've started the Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton and the Night Huntress series by Jeaniene Frost - both are great!
I've also read the 2nd book  in The Parasol Protectorate series - Changeless by Gail Carriger, I just love the plot and the characters in this series and can't wait to find out how it continues! The 7th book in the BBD series - Lover Avenged by J.R.Ward, really lived up to my expectation! The 2nd book in the Hollows series - The Good, the Bad, and the Undead by Kim Harrison was a fun read. Really looking forward to read more :)
In between all the vampire books, I've read a exciting thriller - Map of Bones by James Rollins. It's the 2nd book in the Sigma series, but I haven't read any of the other.

Another month has gone and here are the books I've read in August :) As always I've highligthed the books I enjoyed most. I've found a new great series by Gail Carriger. Steampunk (which is totally new to me, but I love it) mixed with vampires and werewolves!  I'm reading book two at the moment, trying to make it last a bit longer then I usually read a book. I have book three, but book four isn't coming out until  spring next year....
And as some of you might know, I love vampire/werewolf books ;) So I've picked up another series too this month - The Hollows series by Kim Harrison. Loved the first book, especially the pixi Jenks :) So I'm looking forward to read the next book!
And another favourite book this month have been the Potensgiverne. I don't think it's been translated into english though. But it's a warm, humorous book about two old sisters who desides to earn some money by making and selling potency drug, so they can install a indoor bathroom.

It's time for the update on the books I've read in June. It's been quite a bit of "mindless" pocket series books (Livets Døtre i.e) this month. But I've also been hooked on mystery/codex books. Dan Brown and Tom Egeland have some good ones. And last, I've started a SF trilogy by B. Andreas Bull-Hansen - which is fantastic!! I've highlighted my favourite books :)

I have read book 2 and 3 in the Twilight saga, and loved them. But after reading some reviews of the last book (breaking dawn), I have desided that I'm not going to read it. It's not the way I pictured the story to end... I really wanted Bella and Jacob to be togehter ;)

I love books! I've been readig books since I learned how to read, and there's no better way to spend some hours than with a good book and disappear into another world! So when I found the 52 books in 52 weeks group on Ravelry, I thought I'd make a list of the books I read and see if I manage to read 52 books in a year. And it's seems like I have no problem so far ;) I might even manage to do the reading 200+ books in 2010 challenge ;)
