Knitted porn?

Yesterday one of Norways newspapers made a huge newspaper article about a knitted vagina.
The article refers to a heated debate in Sweden, where a knitted vagina caused a commotion on a website for crafters.
I'm glad most of the commets she got was positiv, but I also understand that some might find it provocative...

But I think it's strange that there has not been any huge debats when a knitted, crochet or sewen penis has been showed...

What's your opinion - do you think this is art or porn?

  1. For me, this is neither art nor porn. I've been reading what the creator wrote in the forum where the image was posted, and for me that makes it a political statement with a somewhat fun twist. ;)
(The biggest problem as far as I've been able to red, was not actually the item she knitted, but the word she used for it, because she called it "fitte", which is a word most people think of as pornographic)

  2. I agree with Monica. I don't see it as either art or porn. I don't understand the whole "knitting something that isn't useful" idea anyway. I would much rather spend my knitting time making lace socks or something. To each their own I guess.

I agree with you, why make a big deal of this and not the knitted penis? Same thing as far as I'm concerned.

  3. Penis and vagina are the same thing to me, I don't see either as porn or art. More like the creator wanted some publicity.

  4. When I used to teach childbirthing classes, I had a knitted vagina to help as a teaching tool. It was very helpful to teach crowning and rotation of the wee one's head as it came to the world.
