Gnom in newly-fallen snow

Yes, you read it right - newly-fallen snow! We've had some snow now and then during the weekend, but today we woke up to over 20 cm with snow. Even if the sun gives us a gleam now and then, there is not much reminding me about spring outside.... And one should not think we had close to +20C a week ago.... I just hope it melts fast!

gnom

Mønster: Yuletide gnomes fra Irresistble gifts to knit
Garn: 50 g grå østlandsgarn, 50 g rød Mor aase, en rest hudfarget daletta og funny pelsgarn
Pinner: 3 og 6 mm

I've knitted the gnom for a lottery my local husflidslag are having. I've knitted the small size, so the shoes looks a bit big ;)

Pattern: Yuletide gnomes from Irresistable gifts to knit
Yarn: 50 g grey, 50 g red, some leftover in skincolor and Funny for the beard
Needles: 3 and 6 mm

  1. How cute. Love the gnome. I'm always so excited when it snows for the first time every year but by May, I've had enough (it does make for a very cute picture having him in the snow, however;)

  2. Your little gnomes are so cute! Don't feel bad about the snow thing, we are still getting snow in the mountain areas here--and it should have quit snowing a month ago! I am beginning to think it isn't going to melt this year before winter comes around again.

  3. I have such a thing for gnomes, and this one is adorable! At least he looks like he's enjoying the snow. Hopefully it will melt quickly. We did another light snow last week, too. Spring surely is going to be wonderful when it's here at last.

  4. Ha, Ha, i thought I'd gotten on the wrong site at first when I saw your snow. Our forecast is for it to be 90 degrees F. tomorrow. We've had beautiful weather this spring, so I shouldn't complain, but I've rather have snow....maybe not if we'd had snow all winter:)

Your gnome is so cute. He reminds me of the little Tomten in those Astrid Lingren books.

  6. OMGosh! I LOVE the gnome. I have looked for the pattern around here but it's not available. I will have to order the book though the UK Amazon.com. I would love to make them for Christmas next year! Too cute!
