I'm going to frog it...

Jacket

I got my jacket off the needles during the weekend. But I'm going to frog it. Either the pattern is wrong or my body is in the wrong shape... It's mostly the last I think.
Despite that I've knitted the sleeves and the body longer than in the pattern, they are too short. The sleeves will get even shorter when I seam them under the arms.

Jacket

I didn't knit the collar as in the pattern, but a seed stitch edge. The only thing I like about this jacket is the pattern on the top of the body.
So now I have to find me another pattern...

  3. Oh, what a shame. :( It really is a pretty sweater. But if it doesn't fit how you want it to, you are right - better to frog and make something you will wear. The yarn is too pretty to "waste".

  4. Oh I am so sorry :( What a shame!! I really hope that you find a pattern that you love so much more. *HUGS*

Also just made a HUGE announcement on the blog of the "HOLY MOLY" sort, so if you have a moment, stop on by. :)

  6. Do you think that a good blocking would make it relax and fit better?

  7. I think that is why I stay away from sweaters. That last one I made (the hooded sweat-shirt) I added almost 13 cm, I am not joking!, onto the arms to make them long enough. There were a couple of times that I looked at them and thought, "Oh, those are going to be way to long. I should take them out and start over." I am so glad that I didn't--they turned out just right, (miracle).

That's too bad, the sweater is really nice! Will you try to make it over, or do like me (when I have to frog something really nice) and turn it all into socks?

  8. That's rotten! I think it's a lovely jacket but if you're not going to wear it, frog that baby. I'm scared to knit sweaters because my arms are freakishly long as is my torso. I'm sure everything will turn out cropped and cap sleeved! Beautiful yarn, by the way.

  10. I understand why you are going to frog it, I'd do the same. Albeit the cardigan itself is beautiful and it is a pity of all the effort you've put in knitting it!

  11. Such a shame.....so hard to put that much work into something and have it turn out not quite right.

I still haven't learned to knit. I tell my girls, "I have a hard enough time with one crochet hook, I'm not sure I could manage two needles!" Someday, maybe.....
