It's cold too be in late October...
Today we woke up to -15 C and the sun doesn't make any warmth as she barely can be seen over the treetops where we live. In about a months time she will be gone for a couple of months and we have polar nights again. Hopefully this snow will not melt as it makes the days lighter.
And as someone commented in the snowman post
...and while it must be a bit exciting to be getting snow, I am guessing the novelty wears off eventually, living so far north.Yes, it does. We are pretty much ready for spring when March starts... But some years the snow doesn't come until February/March and melt again in June, so the winters can be very different from year to year...
But I like those winters with snow from Nov due to the said polar nights. A winter without snow in those dark months can be hard.
You've beat us out now! We're only dipping to -10.
ReplyDeleteAlthough our winter's do not get as dark, I do so agree that snow on the ground sure helps to brighten the darkest months!
Vakre bilder! Det er litt magisk med snø i oktober synes jeg. Sol og snø på en gang, det gir sånn påskestemning, også er det egentlig høst.
ReplyDeleteHelt enig :) Håper bare den ikke kommer til å regne bort...
DeleteFlotte bilder! :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting thing you experience! The trees are beautiful w/the snow.
ReplyDeleteWow, these pictures look amazing, i'm no a great fan of snow, but I love looking it from indoors, and venturing out for quick snow ball fight with the kids.
ReplyDeleteI can definitely see how the novelty might wear off, but as someone who doesn't see a whole lot of snow, your photos are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWow. Your photos are just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos, I'm sure too much of any one type of weather can be difficult to experience!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures ... just gorgeous. Wow!
